At Connected Earth, each customer's web site is custom-developed. We do not use templates simply filled in by your information. Since each business is unique, each web site should be unique.

1. The first step in developing your web site is a meeting of the minds. We get together to discuss why you want a web site and what you want it to do for you. You know your business better than anyone else, so we talk about it's important factors from an insider's view. We also discuss your business from an outsider's view to optimize the communication benefit your web site will have for people with little or no knowledge about your business beforehand. The first step is essentially one of brainstorming what needs to be in your web site.
   
   
2. After brainstorming the basic concept, we talk specifics: What are some potential "names" (URLs) of your web site? What kind of layout should your site utilize? What kinds of technological features would be the most beneficial for your site? How often will updates need to be made? At this step, the answers to these questions will be quite flexible, but they will give us a starting point.
   
   
3. With this starting point, we leave and go to work on the conceptual development and layout of your web site. We will make a paper diagram showing how the site will be linked together by the various, specific web pages. We will also show the information and graphics that could be included on each page. We set up a second visit with you, and work together on the concept until everyone shares the vision.
   
   
4. Also during the second meeting, we discuss the estimated cost of developing the site. Pages, graphics and/or technological features may be added or removed to adjust the estimate, and we come up with a final estimate.
   
   
5. Next, we start the actual development of your web site. We will publish the site at a location only you know about at first so you can see the progress. Your feedback is important during this step, and if you see something you want changed and/or added, we can do it at this time. The length of time required for this step will be discussed during the second visit.
   
   
6. When the development is finished, we meet one more time in person before making the web site public. When everyone is happy with the final product, we connect you to the internet and the world! Congratulations on your new web site!
   
   
7. After you are connected, we will maintain your site according to a schedule or on an as-needed basis. To help people find your new web site, we will register your site with major search engines and directories.
